6–20 November 2026 · VIZJA University, Warsaw
EUVIA4PL is launching its first Winter School, Shared Heritage Shared Europe: European Cultural Heritage and Identity. The school connects European values with practical questions of access, representation and responsible publication in Polish higher education.
Whose heritage is represented, and how can a university make cultural participation more inclusive? Participants will address this question through 60 contact hours: 20 lecture hours and 40 hours of supervised practical work, including discussions, workshops, simulations and student projects.
What participants will explore
- Heritage, identity and EU values — European identity, pluralism, cultural and linguistic diversity, and the interpretation of heritage.
- Rights and cultural governance — EU cultural competence, the scope of the Charter of Fundamental Rights, access, freedom of expression, privacy and publication decisions.
- Inclusive heritage learning and curation — accessible descriptions, multilingual participation, representation, consultation and inclusive learning resources.
- Stakeholder dialogue and policy decisions — source evidence, publication options, institutional responsibilities and public communication.
From discussion to a practical output
The flagship teaching case, Heritage Commons Poland — Digitise, Describe, Disagree, asks participants to develop a curation and publication policy for a simulated Polish university heritage collection. Teams will map relevant values and rights, consider at least three stakeholder perspectives and compare two publication options. Their policy will be accompanied by an accessible one-page infographic and source list; each participant will also prepare an individual case brief.
Teaching team
